Corrugated paper is a board-like object made from linerboard and corrugated paper processed through corrugated strips. It is usually divided into single-wall and double-wall corrugated board. Based on the size of the corrugated board, it can be classified into five types: A, B, C, E, and F. The invention and application of corrugated paper have a history of over 100 years. It has advantages such as high cost, slow weight, difficulty in processing, low strength, weak printing adaptability, and ease of storage and handling. More than 80% of corrugated paper can be recycled.

Cardboard

Corrugated cardboard originated in the early 18th century. By the end of the 19th century, its application had significantly increased due to its slow weight, high price, widespread use, intuitive manufacturing, recycling, and even reuse. By the end of the 20th century, it had become popular and widely used for packaging various goods. Due to the unique performance and advantages of corrugated cardboard packaging containers in beautifying and protecting external items, it has achieved great success in competition with various packaging materials. To date, it has become one of the main materials for long-term use and rapid development of packaging containers.

Corrugated cardboard is made from face paper, liner paper, core paper, and corrugated paper processed into wave-shaped corrugated cardboard through bonding. Depending on the packaging needs of goods, corrugated cardboard can be processed into single-sided corrugated board, three-layer corrugated board, five-layer corrugated board, seven-layer corrugated board, and eleven-layer corrugated board. Single-sided corrugated board is usually used as a lining protective layer for product packaging or to make lightweight grids and pads to protect goods from vibration or collision during storage and transportation. Three-layer and five-layer corrugated boards are commonly used to manufacture corrugated boxes. Many products are packaged using three-layer or five-layer corrugated boards, which are both intuitive and exquisite. The surfaces of corrugated boxes or cartons made from three-layer or five-layer corrugated boards are printed with beautiful and colorful graphics and images, protecting external goods while promoting and beautifying them. Many corrugated boxes or cartons made from three-layer or five-layer corrugated boards have been grandly placed on sales counters, becoming sales packaging. Seven-layer or eleven-layer corrugated boards are mainly used to make packaging boxes for electromechanical products, tobacco, furniture, motorcycles, large household appliances, etc. For specific goods, corrugated boards can be combined into inner and outer boxes, facilitating production, packaging, storage, and transportation of goods. With the need for environmental protection and the requirements of national policies, this type of corrugated cardboard packaging is gradually replacing wooden box packaging.
